Range and Charging Time

Charging time and range estimates change depending on the trim and drive-type you select. You will get 230 miles of estimated range with the base single-motor RWD 2024 Kia EV9, while the single-motor Light Long Range trim is expected to return 304 miles on a full battery. AWD long-range Wind and Land trims with the dual-motor set-up are rated at 280 miles, while the GT-Line drops a touch to 270 miles with its larger wheels. The 2024 Kia EV9 is equipped with dual 400V/800V capability, which means it can handle the most powerful DC fast-charging stations for a quick top-up. Kia estimates a 24-minute charge from 10% to 80% at a max DC fast-charger speed of 210 kw. The base Light trim gets even faster charging with its smaller battery, reaching 80% from 10% in an estimated 20 minutes at a max 235 kW station. At home, all 2024 Kia EV9 trims come equipped with a 10.9 kW onboard charger for level 2 charging, which allows the Light trim to fully recharge in under seven hours and the other trims in under nine hours.

Trim Offerings

Available in five different trims, the 2024 Kia EV9 has both RWD and AWD drive options. All of the AWD trim options use the long-range battery. We will detail the specs of each trim below. Light This entry-level trim is RWD and features faux leather upholstery, heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats, twin 12.3-inch digital screens, a 5-inch screen for climate controls, wireless phone charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital key system, and over-the-air operating updates. You will also find an abundance of recycled and sustainable materials in the interior as well as three-zone climate control and first- and second-row center consoles. On the exterior, you will appreciate the 19-inch alloy wheels, slim LED headlights and taillights, flush door handles, and heated and power-adjustable side mirrors. Light Long Range This model is different in that it has the larger battery and comes with a HomeLink-equipped self-dimming rearview mirror, a six-seat configuration, and second-row captain’s chairs that can slide and fold. Wind Adding a dual-motor and electronic AWD, the Wind trim also has flush-mount roof rails, a heated steering wheel, a neat dual-panel sunroof, and an energy-saving heat pump for the climate control system. Land Comfort and style takes a front seat in the Land trim, which includes cool amenities like programmable digital lighting on the grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, gloss-black exterior trim elements, and acoustic glass for the rear-door windows. Inside, you will love the heated and ventilated seats, rear-window shade curtains, the 14-speaker Meridian audio system, a surround-view monitor system, a drawer-type glove box, and ambient interior lighting. A notable feature is a vehicle-to-load power system that allows for the 2024 Kia EV9’s battery to power 12-volt appliances. GT-Line This is a design-driven model, with standard features that add on to the Land trim and include special front seats with a massaging function, power-adjustable leg support extensions, self-leveling rear suspension, raised black roof rails, 21-inch wheels, and remote parking assist.
